Arshad Warsi’s Jolly LLB turned out to be a hit in 2013. The viewers loved the act put up by the actor on the big screen. Despite its success, Arshad wasn’t a part of the sequel, Jolly LLB 2. Akshay Kumar was approached to play the lead. There were reports that Arshad is unhappy for not being approached for the sequel, but he denied all the reports back then. Jolly LLB 2 went on to do more than Rs 100 crore at the box office. In an interview with ZoomTV, Arshad quipped saying that if Boman Irani and he were a part of the Jolly LLB 2, then also it would have made 100 crores at the box office.
“I think, let’s be honest, if Boman and I were there in Jolly LLB 2, it would’ve still done a 100 crore. And they would’ve still made more money because they would not be paying us as much as they paid Akshay (laughs). It was a bad move, actually. So, bad move. Actually, Fox (producers) would’ve made more money with Boman and me (laughs),” said Arshad.
According to reports, Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi will be pitted against each other in the third instalment and will be seen essaying the role of the lawyers. Talking about pairing up with Akshay in the third part, Arshad said, “That’s what I heard. That’s what I’ve been told. Akshay told me this. He had said, “Three hum log saath mein karenge.” (We’ll do the third part together). So, I said, ‘Ya, sure.’”
Meanwhile, the actor is currently promoting his upcoming film, Fraud Saiyaan. Directed by Sourabh Shrivastava and produced by Jha, the January 18 release stars Warsi as a confidence trickster who marries many women and lives off them.
