With the entire world talking about the epic goof-up at Oscars with the Best Picture name, Anushka Sharma’s Phillauri style dig at the mix-up will leave you in splits.
The 28-year-old actress referring to her character Shashi in the movie today took to Twitter and wrote, “Yeh log mujhe sun nahin paye, main toh kab se Hindi mein keh rahi thi ki naam galat likha hai #Shashi WasThere” along with a photoshopped pic of herself at the 89th Academy Awards.
The tweet was in line with the social media initiative called “Shashi Was There” started to promote Phillauri by smartly placing Anushka in the clicks from the awards night.
Also speaking about the big fat blooper, the Ae Dil Hai Mushkil star told a leading news channel, “It was sad I guess because people had started to give their acceptance speech and I was happy that nobody was crying. Imagine if they were crying and then they would have been told then that would have been really funny.”
In one of the biggest goof-ups in the history of the awards functions, Presenter Warren Beatty wrongly announced La La Land starring Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling as the Best Picture instead of Moonlight that had Trevante Rhodes and Andre Holland in the lead.
Talking about Anushka’s second venture as a producer after NH10, Phillauri, portrays the actress as an omnipresent ghost.
Also starring Diljit Dosanjh, Suraj Sharma and Mehreen Pirzada, the movie will hit the silver screen on March 24.
Helmed by Anshai Lal, the romantic comedy revolves around the drama that unfolds after a young man wrongly marries a friendly ghost.
