On May 23, 2019, Narendra Modi was voted in for a second term as Prime Minister as he led BJP to a massive win. Soon after the landslide victory, B-town celebs took to social media to congratulate the Prime Minister and amidst a host of congratulatory wishes, it was filmmaker Anurag Kashyap’s wish to PM that caught our attention. As we all know, Dev D director, Anurag Kashyap is known for his outspoken nature, and besides pouring in best wishes, Anurag had something else to tell PM.
Calling himself a ‘dissenter’ of PM Modi, in his tweet, while Anurag congratulated PM Narendra Modi for the clean sweep victory at the Lok Sabha Elections 2019, he also asked Modi to tell him how to deal with all of Modi followers who are celebrating the victory by threatening his daughter. Anurag’s tweet goes like, “Dear @narendramodi sir. Congratulations on your victory and thank you for the message of inclusiveness. Sir please also tell us how do we deal with these followers of yours who celebrate your victory by threatening my daughter with messages like this for me being your dissenter.” Along with the tweet, Anurag Kashyap added an image of a comment of a person on his daughter’s picture and the comment had a lot of abusive remarks directed towards Anurag and his daughter. Well, Anurag is a Modi critic and often, Kashyap takes to social media to express a sense of disconcert with Modi and recently, Kashyap, along with other artists, had signed a letter asking people to vote BJP out of power.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Anurag is currently working on Saand Ki Aankh starring Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar and a few days back, the makers had wrapped up the shooting of the film.
