Alia Bhatt recently wrapped up the second schedule of Mahesh Bhatt’s Sadak 2 also starring Sanjay Dutt, Pooja Bhatt and Aditya Roy Kapur. The actress is excited about her upcoming movie Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi. We all know that Sanjay Leela Bhansali makes sure that his movies turn out exactly the way he wants. From the characters to the sets of the film, everything has to be perfect. And now for Gangubhai Kathiawadi also the actor wants the same. He is on the lookout for a tutor for Alia Bhatt for the movie for the dialect.
In the movie, Alia is shown from Kathiawadi and hence needs to have that dialect. According to Mid Day, a close source said that interestingly, Alia’s paternal grandfather Nanabhai Bhatt was a Gujarati Brahmin who hailed from Kathiawad. But Alia is not familiar with the dialect as it is rarely used outside of the pocket in Gujarat. Since the filmmaker is meticulous in his prep, he wants a tutor who is fluent in the dialect. Bhansali has reached out to some of Mumbai’s famous Gujarati theatre personalities, including actors Manoj Joshi and Supriya Pathak, to help him in his search. The film will be shot simultaneously as she undertakes the month-long diction class.
Alia Bhatt will portray the role of Gangubai Kothewali who is a fierce madam of Kamathipura brothels in the 1960s. She had gangsters as clients and was rumored to be a drug peddler. This will be the first time Ali will be working with Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Besides this, Alia will also be seen in Brahmastra with Ranbir Kapoor and Amitabh Bachchan and SS Rajamouli’s RRR. According to rumors, Alia and her manager are in talks with some Hollywood agents for Hollywood projects.
