Alia Bhatt made her debut in 2012 with Karan Johar’s Student of The Year, and since then, the actress has only been giving amazing performances. With her second film Highway, Alia showed her acting prowess. Since then, Bhatt has been a part of the outstanding films where she played different characters. She is cited as one of the best female actors in Bollywood currently who is lauded for her peculiar choices in films.
In an interview with DNA, Alia was asked if she feels pressurized with the audience’s expectations from her. The Udta Punjab actress said that there is a certain responsibility she feels towards the audiences. However, she won’t neglect the fact that 99 percent of her films have worked really well.
She added, “I also understand that when they come in with a certain expectation, it’s not just me but also because of the trailer and the content that’s already been put out. However, I’m happy to have this expectation on my shoulders. That’s probably pushing me to work harder because I’ll still make instinctive choices. My choices will never get manipulated by other’s expectations. But my attitude towards work will get better.”
Alia further said that she is putting more efforts as things are getting better for her. She said she wasn’t this hard-working 2 years ago, but now, it’s time for her to focus more.
The actress is all geared up for her upcoming release Kalank. Directed by Abhishek Varman, the film also stars Varun Dhawan, Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Dutt, Aditya Roy Kapur and Sonakshi Sinha.
Kalank is a period drama set during the era of partition and the trailer and songs so far have received a great response. The film will hit the screens on April 17, 2019.
