Alia Bhatt on achieving success at 26: There’s no need to get excited or let that go to your head

If there is one star who managed to get everyone’s attention from Day 1 of entry in Bollywood, it was Alia Bhatt. The star who emerged in 2012 from her debut film, Student Of The Year has managed to give some brilliant performances since then. From her performance as Sakina in Gully Boy to Veera in Highway to Sehmat in Raazi, Alia proved that she is a bonafide star and is here to shine. As she completes 7 years in Bollywood and is gearing up for her next big film, Brahmastra with Ranbir Kapoor, Alia spoke about how have things changed.

In a recent interview with Hindustan Times, Alia mentioned that over the last seven years, her way to pick films has changed. The Gully Boy star stated that time is of utmost importance and that a mental calculation does take place in her mind when she is picking a film. But, Alia clearly mentioned that in the end, its her inner gut that takes over and she then decides whether or not she will do a film. The Raazi star who is back from Varanasi after shooting for Brahmastra mentioned that achieving so much success at a young age of 26 hasn’t gone to her head and that she only focuses on working hard.

Alia said, “It (success) doesn’t, if you are aware that the only permanent thing in life is change. What I need to do is keep my head down, keep working hard. There will be good days, there will be bad ones too. I’m living my dream. I don’t believe I’m entitled to anything. I work hard for what I achieve. When I achieve it, I kind of park in my little pocket and continue to move on. There’s no need to get excited or let that go to your head.” Alia is currently back from Varanasi after shooting with Ranbir for Ayan Mukerji’s film.

Alia also revealed that at home with her family, she doesn’t discuss work at all. She mentioned that her father Mahesh Bhatt and mommy Soni Razdan get to know about her work projects from media. Meanwhile, Alia has three films in her kitty including Brahmastra, Inshallah with Salman Khan and SS Rajamouli’s RRR. After Brahmastra, Alia will be shooting for Inshallah with Salman and Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The film is slated to release on Eid 2020.
