Jolly LLB 2, based on the country’s law, will show the loopholes on how the cases are mishandled, making this a satirical courtroom drama. The film stars Akshay Kumar and Huma Qureshi in the lead roles.
Now, as per a daily, the film has landed into a legal trouble. The Supreme Court asked the producer of the film to first approach the Bombay High Court in order to appoint a three-member committee to review the film.
Justice Ranjan Gogoi said, “You (producer) go to the high court. We will keep it (plea) pending here.” The film producer has requested the High Court to look into the matter as the allegations are there that the film mocks the the legal system.
Prolific lawyer Kapil Sibal, who’s representing the film, during the hearing, said, “We have the CBFC certificate. How can this (review by committee) be done? It is not in accordance with the law.” Sibal also added, “Then the review by the committee should be postponed till the high court decides it.”
“We post this matter for further consideration…we leave it to the high court to pass appropriate order,” the bench said. Justice Gogoi also added, “We will not see the film. We will tell you why we will not see the film. We don’t have three hours’ patience. Don’t you think that three hours is too long.”
The film is set to hit the screens on February 10, this year.
