Akshay Kumar REACTS to Bachchan Pandey clashing with Aamir Khan’s Lal Singh Chaddha in Christmas 2020

Akshay Kumar is probably the busiest man in B-Town. The actor has a slew of releases lined up, one after the other. He just began the promotions of his upcoming Independence Day release, Mission Mangal. The movie, based on India’s famous mission to Mars, features Vidya Balan, Sonakshi Sinha, Taapsee Pannu, Nithya Menen and Kirti Kulhari in the lead. While the actor has been promoting the movie on every occasion, he recently treated fans with the first look of his next flick, Bachchan Pandey. The actor looks jaw-dropping in the poster released a few days ago.

While we were intrigued by his look, we also learned that the movie will be clashing with Aamir Khan’s Lal Singh Chaddha. Interestingly, both the movies are a remake. Bachchan Pandey is a remake of the Tamil movie, Veeram, which starred Thala Ajith and Tamannaah Bhatia. Whereas Lal Singh Chaddha is a remake of Hollywood blockbuster, Forrest Gump. The movie starred the renowned international actor Tom Hanks in the lead.

Given that both the movies are poles apart, the clash would be interesting to watch. Fans of both the actors are yet to place a bet on who would take over the Christmas box office in 2020. But Akshay recently addressed the clash. The actor, speaking with Mumbai Mirror, said that we should be happy that two big movies would be releasing together.

“We have 52 Fridays in a year and even fewer holiday weekends. We make over 200 Hindi films a year while Hollywood releases 40 more and then there’s the South industry and other regional cinema. So, we should be happy if we have two big releases in a week. This year, on the Independence Day weekend we had three, (Mission Mangal, Batla House, and Saaho) till one bowed out,” he said.

Akshay has not been a stranger to clashes. The actor clashed with John Abraham last year at the Independence Day box office with Gold and Satyamev Jayate releasing on the same day. This year, he clashes not only with John’s Batla House, but he will also go head-on with Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt’s Once Upon A Time In Hollywood.
