Trust Akshay Kumar to come up with innovative strategies to promote his films. Not only does he manage to make it interesting and unique, but he also makes sure that the promotions are with a cause and will help the society at large.
Today, Akshay kickstarted the promotions of his upcoming film Toilet: Ek Prem Katha in Madhya Pradesh. As a part of his promotion, the actor dug up two pit toilets in Khargone district of MP.
Kumar shared an image of him from the event today morning on Twitter with a caption that reads, “Digging my 1st #TwoPitToilet in Khargone District of MP with Minister Narendra Singh Tomar #MakeTheChange #WasteToWealth.”
Directed by Shree Narayan Singh and produced by Friday Filmworks and Grazing Goat Pictures, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha stars Bhumi Pednekar opposite Akshay and the movie is slated to release on August 11, 2017.
Interestingly, the film was initially supposed to release on June 2, 2017. But certain portions of the movie are yet to be shot and hence the makers decided to delay the release. Now, the movie’s release is clashing withShah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma’s yet-to-be-titled film which is directed by Imtiaz Ali. Both the films will be locking horns at the ticket window this Independence Day.
While SRK announced the release first followed by Akshay, who officially declared it last week, not many are aware that the Khiladi star was the first one to block that Independence Day release with his other film Crack. However, that got pushed and hence Akshay decided to release his other film on the same date.
With two biggies taking on each other, it would be exciting to see, who wins the box-office battle!
