After rocking at TED Talks, SRK reveals he likes Ellen DeGeneres’ kind of speeches

Shah Rukh Khan brought the house down with his wit and humour at the TED Talks 2017 held in Vancouver, Canada. After receiving a lot of appreciation for his speech at the popular event, SRK spoke to a leading daily about his experience. The superstar, who often uses humour in his speeches revealed that he does not care much for serious speeches.

He said, “It feels very nice because over the years, I have been a big fan of TED Talks. In fact, it has been a dream to give a TED talk. Of course, I am not an innovator, technocrat or a scientist to ever imagine that I would make it to this platform. But I think the organisers were very kind and said that, ‘you please come and talk about India, what you have learnt from being an Indian and being a star in India’. It was a great opportunity. Also, it was a completely different platform than others that I have been to, and I am happy that I did fairly well too.”

He added, “I randomly keep looking for speeches from across the world. I think Ellen DeGeneres speaks fantastically. Also, I feel [the late] Steve Jobs and one of his speeches was brilliant. I also loved Maysoon Zayid’s recent talk at TED. She suffers from cerebral palsy and is a stand-up comedienne. Actually, there are many of them. I keep casually searching for such talks. I also love some of the actors, producers are writers from Hollywood but to be specific, I like the funny ones. I don’t appreciate the serious ones that much (smiles).”

Isn’t that sweet?

On the work front, SRK will next be seen in Imtiaz Ali’s movie also featuring Anushka Sharma. The movie is yet to zero in on a title and Imtiaz recently announced that it won’t be too long before the team comes up with one.
